$2,000 and Two Truckloads of Food Raised for Area Pantries
(November 14, 2010) A gathering of Eldora Speedway staff members and vendors benefited two area food banks to the tune of $2,000 in cash and two truckloads of non-perishable items to stock their shelves. The donations were split equally between Darke County’s Community Action Partnership and the Mercer County’s CALL Food Bank.

The get-together, held in the Eldora Ballroom on Sunday (Nov. 14), was a celebration of the recently concluded Eldora Speedway racing season, with the premise of contributing to the food bank programs. Each staff member brought in items for donation to the service groups...

Scouts Hold Camporee at UMP Nationals
(October 10, 2010) Continuing a tradition that was begun three years ago, Eldora Speedway teamed up with the Miami Valley Council of Boy Scouts America to host a Camporee over the weekend of the UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) National Championships (October 8-10).

The busy weekend included scout sponsored activities and displays in the reserved campgrounds, a racing meet and greet session and the flag raising ceremonies prior to racing action. All scouts in uniform were admitted free of charge to the racing events over the weekend. Over 300 scouts and family members participated in the weekend event

Shriners Raise Money & Awareness at World 100
(September 11, 2010) Antioch Shrine Temple has collected donations for the Shrine Children Hospitals at the World 100 Race weekend the past two seasons. To date, over $4,000 has been raised!

They perform musical skits in the parking lot, as well as participate in a giant Shriners Parade in the pit area (and over the victory stage) as part of pre-race ceremonies on Saturday night of the World 100


American Red Cross Brings Go-Karts to Kings Royal Weekend
(July 15, 2010) For the second straight year, the Mercer (OH) County Red Cross chapter conducted Charity Go-Kart races on the front stretch of the Eldora Speedway to unofficially kick off Kings Royal weekend Thursday evening.

The event, free to the public, is a big fundraiser for the local Red Cross chapters, which help in disaster relief and emergency prevention.

Eldora Hosts Blood Drive
(June 24, 2010) Eldora Speedway hosted its third annual Blood Drive on June 24th. Each year, the total number of units of blood collected has increased, with this past year seeing 45 unites of blood donated. Event organizers are already planning the 2011 event.

In addition to the satisfaction that the blood donors received, knowing that they helped to save lives, Eldora Speedway offered an incentive to get poked - 25 pairs of race tickets were given away throughout the afternoon.
