Two procedure changes were announced at the drivers meeting for the Dirt Late Model Dream event. Heat races at the Dream are now 20 laps, as opposed to 15. The second change is a significant one - all lapped cars in all races go to the rear of the field after a yellow or red flag. Previously, lapped cars held their position on the track.

Race officials have announced that A-Main will hit the track at 11:10.

The lineup is beginning to take shape in the staging area. Race fans we are just moments away from the 17th Annual Dirt Late Model Dream!!

Cars are now on the track!!! Dustin Neat had a mechanical issue and was unable to come out.

4-wide salute happening now! Going green in just a few laps.

11:20: We are Green!

Billy Moyer jumps out to the early lead over Lanigan, Vaught, Carrier, and Babb. Bloomquist is up to 10th from 15th. Leaders are entering lap traffic.

Lanigan is quickly closing in on the leader, Billy Moyer while in lapped traffic. 13 laps down.

Moyer continues to keep the lead as Lanigan has made several attempts to pass him on the inside. Vaught, Carrier, and Babb round out your top 5.

A quarter of the way through the race and Jimmy Owens is up to 9th. Your top 5 is still the same.

Things are getting dicey between Moyer and Lanigan in lapped traffic as Lanigan continues to give chase and try to find a way around Moyer. 34 laps in.

Jimmy Owens is your biggest mover of the race so far. 20th to 8th! 40 laps down, 60 to go.

Caution on lap 45 for the spinning car of Jimmy Owens. Will Vaught was closing in on Moyer and Lanigan before the caution. Don O'Neal has gone from 12th to 4th.

Moyer and Lanigan are nose to tail running nearly even lap times as they weave through lapped traffic. O'Neal is closing in fast!

O'Neal takes the second spot away from Lanigan. As they both give chase to Billy Moyer. 20 laps to go.

Lap 89 O'Neal hits the turn 2 wall but keeps going. Approximately 25 car lengths between him and Moyer. 8 to go!

O'Neal is diamonding off turns 1 and 2 and is running the high side in 3 and 4. 5 laps to go!

5 laps in, Clint Smith has jumped out to the early lead over McCool, Drown, Shirley, McDowell, and Birkhofer.

Things starting to tighten up as the leaders have reached lapped traffic! 8 to go!

Caution on lap 13 for the 15 of Steve Francis who hit the wall in turn 3.

Clint Smith still leads followed by McCool, Drown, Shirley, McDowell, and Heckenast. 7 to go.

Frank Heckenast and Brian Birkhofer are having one heck of a battle for the last transfer spot!

Caution with 3 to go for John Blankenship and Mike Spatola who both hit the turn 1 wall.

Caution with 1 to go as Duane Chamberlain throws a bonzai slider on Heckenast and Birkhofer putting Birkhofer in the wall! Chamberlain was sent to the tail.

9:30 pm - track work ongoing. Crews are working the top side and knocking down as much of the cushion as possible while teams in the C-Main prepare for their upcoming race, which will be 20 laps.

9:45 pm - Push trucks are now finishing off the surface. C-Main cars are being called to staging!

9:55 pm - Chevrolet pace truck is on the track! Cars are now pulling on the track. Looks as if the 44 of Earl Pearson Jr. will not answer the call.

5 laps in and Dennis Erb Jr. has stretched out a straightaway lead over Spatola, James, Mars, and Francis.

10 laps down, 10 to go as Erb still leads over James, Spatola, Mars, Francis, and Johnson.

Scott James surrenders the 2nd position and pulls to the infield. 7 to go!

Lanigan with a slidejob to take the lead on lap 6!

At the halfway mark Lanigan leads over O'Neal, Davenport, and Birkhofer who is running the extreme bottom!

Several drivers thus far have sustained damage from a fairly thick cushion on the top side of the race track.

8:45 - Green!

Good battle for the final transfer position between Shirley, Shaver, and Korte!

Caution on lap 3 as John Mason jumped the cushion, collided with Chub Frank and spun out. Moyer leads over Brown and Shirley.

Steve Shaver takes 3rd on the restart! Moyer leads with Chris Brown, Shaver, and Brian Shirley in tow. 14 to go.

Caution on lap 10 for Sammy Epling who came to a rest against the turn 2 wall erasing Moyer's straightaway lead.

Chub Frank throws a monster slidejob on Jason Feger and they come together coming out of 2 resulting in a caution for Feger and Vochaska who had nowhere to go. 9 to go.

Randy Korte returns to the track 6 laps down.

Moyer is running over a half a second faster than anyone else on the race track. 4 to go!

8:15 - Push trucks are packing down the cushion.

8:18 - Green!

Caution on lap 1 going into turn 1 as Steve Casebolt and Chad Ruhlman come together and collect Tim Rivers. Casebolt replaced the right rear tire and will continue. Ruhlman and Rivers nights have ended. Complete restart coming up!

8:22 - Green!

Will Vaught takes the lead coming out of 2!

Red Flag as Jon Henry hits the turn 1 wall hard and collects Tim Lance, Steve Casebolt, and Tim Allen. All drivers are ok but their cars have major damage.

It was just announced that Clint Smith(heat race 2) is changing his motor for the b-main.

8:32 - We are back green!

5 laps in, Vaught has a big lead over James, Robinson, Madden, and Drown.

Caution on lap 12 for Scott James who spun in turn 2. James had closed the gap and was on the rear bumper of Vaught.

Caution on lap 13 for debris. Chip Brindle pulls to the infield.

Restart order: Vaught, Robinson, Madden, Drown, and Chamberlain.

Caution flag for the #12 of Bobby Michaels who spun in turn 2.

Carrier jumps out to the early lead, but not for long as there is a caution for the 33 of Brian Reese as he hits the wall coming out of turn 2 and comes to a stop. Reese originally had damage from him and Josh Richards coming together coming out of turn 4 on the previous lap.

8 laps down, 12 to go. Carrier leads over a closing Clanton, Richards and Bloomquist. Reaume pulls to the infield.

Top 3 nose to tail!

Caution as Ryan Vanderveen and Brad Eitinear come together and hit the wall in turn 2. Major damage on both cars, both going off on the hook.

Restart order: Carrier Jr., Clanton, Richards, Bloomquist, McDowell, Miller....

8:05 - We are back green! 7 to go.

Richards looks to the inside of Clanton in 3 and 4 but can't get by. Caution for the 32D of Darren Miller with 4 to go.

Clanton off the pace with 2 to go!! Carrier, Richards, and Bloomquist your top 3!

Carrier Jr. wins over Josh Richards, Scott Bloomquist, Dale McDowell, BJ Robinson, JR Hotovy, Mike Spatola, Shane Clanton, Darren Miller, Ryan Vanderveen, Brad Eitinear, Andrew Reaume, Shannon Thornsberry, Bobby Michaels, and Brian Reese.

Dale McDowell crossed the finish line 4th but has extensive damage to his car as he nearly lost the right rear tire and the rear axle coming to the line.

*Clanton broke a rear axle.

Babb and Hawkins get together coming out of 4! Hartman continues to lead.

Hawkins throws a slider on the lapped car of Gordon and Babb slips to the inside coming to the line!

7:14- Drivers feeling out the track getting ready to go green! While buzzing the track Jeff Franklin scraped the turn 1 wall.

Jared Landers has elected to start tail and use his provisional for tonights feature.

7:20 - Green!

Caution on lap 3 for a spinning Jeff Franklin. VanWormer leads over Miller, Pearson Jr., Neat, and McCool.

Jack Sullivan pulls to the infield with smoke coming out of the rear end.

At the halfway point VanWormer continues to lead over Miller, Neat, and McCool.

Miller is closing in on VanWormer! 7 to go!

ROUND 2 NOTES: Complete - 11:28 pm

Sam Epling hits the turn 2 wall and pulls to the infield.

So far in round 2 19 drivers have bettered their times.

Almost halfway through round 2 and it has begun to rain. Provided that the rain lets up we will have to scrap what has been completed of this round and restart. Out of the 52 cars that had completed their round 2 lap, 23 of them bettered their times.

As of 8:45 it has stopped raining. Push trucks will be hitting the track momentarily to get the track back in raceable condition.

8:50 - Complete round 1 qualifying listed above in timing and scoring section. Push tracks now on the track!!

9:50 - Track is getting close to being ready, we are hoping to get back underway within the next 20 minutes. Track officials have announced that we will do one session of hot laps for everyone, prior to round 2 qualifying.

9:55 pm - Trucks will be coming in shortly. Track officials have announced that the fastest car in each hot lap session will receive a $100 bonus.

New track record set by Jared Landers with a 14.922!!

Approaching the halfway point of round 2. The preferred line right now is about a car length off of the wall. 29 of 39 cars have bettered their lap times.

Caution for debris in turn 1.

At the conclusion of round 2 Jared Landers is your overall fast qualifier and new track record holder! 53 out of the 79 cars that took time in round 2 were faster!

Two fastest qualfiers, Jared Landers and Jimmy Owens, are being interviewed on stage and getting ready to spin the inversion wheel.

The inversion is 6! We will invert 6 for the heat races tomorrow night.


ROUND 1 NOTES: Complete - 8:01 pm

New track record!!! Duane Chamberlain with a 15.204(5th car out).

New track record set again by the twelfth car out, the 44 of Chris Madden with a 15.027. Then broken once again by the 20 of Jimmy Owens with a 14.968.

Chip Brindle missed his qualifying spot so he will have to surrender his round 1 attempt. Sam Epling also missed his lap.

8:03 pm - Round 1 qualifying complete (91 cars in 39 minutes). Push trucks ironing in the highside. Qualifications for Round 2 coming up.


HOT LAPS: Complete - 7:17 pm

Groups will be hot lapped based on pit location. Hot laps are set for 6:30 pm.

Group 1 - clean. 15.910 fastest lap turned by Brian Shirley.
Group 2 - Steve Casebolt slows to the infield. Something went awry with the 212 machine of Josh Putnam ending his weekend. Will Vaught fastest with a 15.594.
Group 3 - clean. JR Hotovy fastest with a 15.704.
Group 4 - clean. Ben Adkins fastest with a 15.829.
Group 5 - Chris Wall is off pace and pulls to the infield(burnt piston). Billy Moyer fastest with a 15.391.
Group 6 - clean. Josh Richards fastest with a 15.305 followed closely by Scott Bloomquist with a 15.350 , both less than a tenth off of the track record.
Group 7 - clean. Don O'Neal fastest with a 15.557.
Group 8 - clean. Shane Clanton fastest with a 15.603.
Group 9 - clean. Jimmy Owens fastest in his session and fastest overall with a 15.234.
