FANS JUMP ON BOARD MOPAR MILLION BANDWAGON

ROSSBURG, OH (Sept. 12) -- Interest in the upcoming Mopar Million Sprint at Eldora continues to escalate. The unprecedented September 19 and 20 Eldora Speedway event, which carries a hefty one million dollar payoff for non-winged Sprint Cars, has attracted 150 paid car entries and now the fans are jumping on board.

Members of the internet site www.hoseheads.com have established a Halfway Award that has grown even beyond their expectations. Already, monies have been contributed by site members in nine states, even as far away as California, and with the goal of $500 already met, a second award, Best Appearing Car and Crew, has been developed, as well.

In keeping with the halfway theme, the first $500 collected will be presented to the driver sitting in 13th position (half of the starting field) on the 20th lap (halfway through the 40-lap main event).

The balance of the money collected will be presented to the best appearing car and crew, as voted upon by the Hosehead members in attendance at the Mopar Million Sprint at Eldora, an event carrying Special Event status by the United States Auto Club (USAC). That award will be presented in special pre-race ceremonies prior to the start of the historic event on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Both award honorees will also receive specially engraved plagues, as donated by the Hosehead members.

As a site dedicated to Sprint car racing, the Hosehead members felt it only fitting that they join in on the excitement generated by the Mopar Million and reward the drivers and teams, in some way, for their participation.

Allan Holland, owner and founder of www.hoseheads.com, currently leads all donors with his $200 contribution.
