2008 ELDORA EVENT SCHEDULE RELEASED

ROSSBURG, OH (Feb. 25) – Variety and ambitious can be used to sum up the recently released 2008 Eldora Speedway slate of events. The Tony Stewart owned one-half mile clay speed plant will play host to at least six sanctioning bodies and see action for a minimum of eleven types of race cars.

A long standing tradition will kick off the season, as the non-winged Sprints of the United States Auto Club (USAC), make the first of their three appearances with the Don Branson/Jud Larson Memorial, along with the Moser UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) Modifieds and Advance Auto Parts Stock Cars. USAC will return June 14 with the annual Border Wars battle and then September 20 as part of the Chevy American Revolution 4 Crown, that will also feature USAC’s Silver Crown and Midget divisions.

Undoubtedly the fastest cars to attack Eldora’s famed high banks, the winged Sprints of the World of Outlaws (WoO), moved into Eldora several times throughout the 2008 campaign, beginning with their annual Spring doubleheader weekend, sponsored by Coca Cola, on April 11 and 12. A single night show, built by The Home Dept, on May 31, leads up to the 25th annual running of the Kings Royal weekend, July 11 and 12, with two full nights of racing, topped off by the $50,000 to win Kings Royal on Saturday night, the 12th. WoO Sprints will close out their Eldora tour on Friday night, Sept. 19, to kick off the 4 Crown.

A pair of assaults by the All Star Sprints are inked for April 26 and June 28, with the latter being the finale of the traditional Ohio Sprint Speedweek, sponsored by Best Western Dayton NW.

Completing the Sprint menu will be the NRA (National Racing Alliance) Sprint Invaders and a return of the 305 Sprints. The NRA gang will compete in sanctioned events May 25, June 14 and July 11, as well as govern a soon to be announced July 8 special event, as well as the newly created UNOH (University of Northwestern Ohio) and Sprint Car & Midget season closer for 360 and 305 Sprints.

UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) will gain by the governing body of choice for the Late Models at Eldora in 2008. Headlining their foray will be the $100,000 to win Dirt Late Model Dream over the weekend of June 6 & 7 and the annual World 100 during its traditional time slot, the weekend after Labor Day, September 5 & 6. Additionally the UMP overseen Sunoco American Late Model Series (ALMS) will see action April 19, May 25 and August 31, with the 2008 UMP National points titles for Late Models and Modfieds to be decided during the Moser UMP Nationals over the weekend of October 3 & 4.

After a one year absence, Fastrak will return with their crate Late Models as part of the GM Performance Parts 40 on August 9, while the WoO Late Models will make a return trip with the Subway 50 on July 25.

Unquestionably the biggest event of Eldora’s annual calendar, the Prelude to the Dream, which features track owner, 2-time NASCAR champion, Tony Stewart, along with a couple dozen of his NASCAR racing buddies in Late Model competition will take place Wednesday evening, June 4.

Advance tickets for the Dirt Late Model Dream, Kings Royal and World 100 are on sale now, either online at www.eldoraspeedway.com or by calling the track office at (937) 338.3815, while the Prelude to the Dream ticket campaign kicks off March 8.
