OHIO MOTORSPORTS COUNCIL CONFERENCE TO OFFER EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS

Rossburg, OH (Jan. 26) – Members and supporters of the Ohio Motorsports Council (OMC) have selected Saturday, February 27, as the date for their annual Spring Conference, which this year will include a ‘workshop’ theme with guest speakers and moderated roundtable discussions.

To be held at the Courtyard by Marriott, just off I-270 on the West side of Columbus (OH), the event is open to all motorsports operations, regardless of size, shape or surface.

Track operators are encouraged to bring key staff members, as a variety of topics will offer the unique opportunity to discuss topics, share ideas and learn from each other.

An informal opening reception, with a cash bar, will take place the evening before, February 26, and the Courtyard by Marriott has offered a special overnight room rate for the conference attendees.

Keynote subjects include Marketing 101, with a representative from the Columbus Clippers coming in to detail concepts that have worked for them towards filling the bleachers. Also on the docket will be a session led by Charlene Kriebel of SYSCO Foods, who will address profitable food items, complete with samples, to help increase the concession stand yield.

Just prior to the luncheon break, Kathy Rhoades, an underwriter for K & K Insurance, will also take an in-depth look at how facilities can work together with the insurance companies to reduce claims and insurance premiums.

Following the break, a panel of assorted leaders from within the industry will address many key issues of the day-to-day operation of a motorsports entity with their Common Sense Business Practices theme.

Concurrent with each strategic session, moderators will be leading roundtable discussions in adjoining rooms on such topics as scoring systems and forms, announcers, ticketing forms and accountability reports, controlling the ‘freebie’ gate and, of current interest, social marketing outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
