MOTORSPORTS COUNCIL CONFERENCE TO OFFER EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS
Rossburg,
OH (Jan. 26) – Members and supporters of the Ohio Motorsports
Council (OMC) have selected Saturday, February 27, as the
date for their annual Spring Conference, which this year will
include a ‘workshop’ theme with guest speakers
and moderated roundtable discussions.
To be held at the Courtyard by Marriott, just off I-270 on
the West side of Columbus (OH), the event is open to all motorsports
operations, regardless of size, shape or surface.
Track operators are encouraged to bring key staff members,
as a variety of topics will offer the unique opportunity to
discuss topics, share ideas and learn from each other.
An informal opening reception, with a cash bar, will take
place the evening before, February 26, and the Courtyard by
Marriott has offered a special overnight room rate for the
conference attendees.
Keynote subjects include Marketing 101, with a representative
from the Columbus Clippers coming in to detail concepts that
have worked for them towards filling the bleachers. Also on
the docket will be a session led by Charlene Kriebel of SYSCO
Foods, who will address profitable food items, complete with
samples, to help increase the concession stand yield.
Just prior to the luncheon break, Kathy Rhoades, an underwriter
for K & K Insurance, will also take an in-depth look at
how facilities can work together with the insurance companies
to reduce claims and insurance premiums.
Following the break, a panel of assorted leaders from within
the industry will address many key issues of the day-to-day
operation of a motorsports entity with their Common Sense
Business Practices theme.
Concurrent with each strategic session, moderators will be
leading roundtable discussions in adjoining rooms on such
topics as scoring systems and forms, announcers, ticketing
forms and accountability reports, controlling the ‘freebie’
gate and, of current interest, social marketing outlets such
as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
OMC membership is not required for attendance; however, advance
registration is. Further information and registration details
may be obtained by contacting Mike Garrepy at 4545 Arendell
Place in Columbus, OH 43231.
