MOSER UMP NATIONALS for late models and modifieds

To clear up some questions we've been receiving on this weekend...

An Eldora Competitors License is required to run at Eldora. The fee for the license is $20.00. The paperwork need not be completed ahead of time - you can complete the form upon arrival this weekend. This is a one-time license that must be completed upon your first race at the Speedway each year (so if you have already raced here in 2008, then you already have this license).

There is no entry fee, or any other applicable fee for either division this weekend.

Minimum age to purchase a pit pass is 14 years old. All patrons ages 14-17 must have a parent or guardian present at time of purchase. Everyone entering the pit area must sign an insurance waiver.

Coolers: Coolers up to 14'' are permitted. No glass bottles. Ohio Revised Code 4301.62 prohibits the carry in or carry out of alcoholic beverages. All coolers will be inspected for compliance to this law.

Golf Carts: The Golf Cart Permit station will be near the Middle Gate. Hours of operation will be posted. All Golf Carts will be required to be registered and must display an Eldora Speedway 2008 Golf Cart Permit. NO Golf Carts are permitted in the main parking lot. Golf Cart parking area is outside of the turn four gate. STATE LAW - Golf Carts are not permitted on any roadway.

Camping: Camping is available on the Eldora Speedway grounds. All camping is free for the Moser UMP Nationals weekend, and on a first come - first served basis.

Qualifying procedures this weekend utilize the group qualifying system. Drivers are placed into groups based on pill draw number. They then take one qualifying lap with their time going up against only those in their group. In other words, drivers in each heat are determined from the pill draw. They are simply qualifiying against the other drivers in their group to set the order of that heat race. Heat race inversion is four, meaning the fastest driver in each group will start 4th in the heat race. Updated car count tonight is 123 modifieds and 69 late models.

October 3 - (9:40 pm) Late Model qualifying is in the books. Drivers registering quick time in each of the six groups were Chris Ross, Jeep VanWormer, Jason Feger, Curt Spalding, Jerry Rice, and Dennis Erb Jr. The overall fastest lap was turned by Feger with a 16.007 second lap...
