The 2008 World 100 may be in the history books, but it's never too early to start looking towards 2009.... The countdown to green is on!

Coolers: Coolers up to 14'' are permitted. No glass bottles. Ohio Revised Code 4301.62 prohibits the carry in or carry out of alcoholic beverages. All coolers will be inspected for compliance to this law.

Medical: A fully staffed First Aid Station will be available throughout the week. Location will be near the Middle Gate - hour of operation will be posted.

Golf Carts: The Golf Cart Permit station will be near the Middle Gate. Hours of operation will be posted. All Golf Carts will be required to be registered and must display an Eldora Speedway 2008 Golf Cart Permit. NO Golf Carts are permitted in the main parking lot. Golf Cart parking area is outside of the turn four gate. STATE LAW - Golf Carts are not permitted on any roadway.

Hillside Seating: Hillside & General Admission Markings for the World 100 may begin THURSDAY morning - September 4 at 8:00 am. Anything placed before that time will be removed by track management. General Admission hillside areas must 'marked' with the chairs or blankets intended to be used. Areas may not be marked with ropes, plastics, tarps, stakes, rocks, spray paint, etc. Chairs are not to vary from standard lawn chair size, width and height.

Camping: Camping Lots #1 - 4 will be open for the Baltes Classic on August 31. All camping spaces for that night are free and do not require reservation in any lot. CAMPGROUNDS WILL OPEN ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 30TH. ANYTHING PLACED BEFORE SATURDAY WILL BE REMOVED BY MANAGEMENT.

Lot #1, Lot #2, the south side of Lot #3 campgrounds are by advance reservation (sold out for 2008) for the WORLD 100 and become available for moving in on Monday, September 1st at 12:00 pm.

The Eldora Village is also an advanced reservation lot for the World 100 and will open for moving in on Sunday, August 31 at 12:00 pm (prior to August 31st, reservations may be made by phone - after August 31st, all remaining reservations must be done in person)

The north end of Lot #3 and all of Lot #4 are free lots and strictly on a first come - first served basis for the World 100.

Showers: Showers will be located outside of turn four. See the Weekend schedule page for times as the event week approaches.

World 100 Seating Update: Stadium style seats may NOT exceed 18 inches in maximum width in the grandstands or bleachers. No high back seats. Please be courteous to those around you.

World 100 Video: Fans wishing to purchase a copy of the 2007 World 100 may do so by contacting Sports Plus Video - the official video production company for the World 100 at Eldora Speedway. Copies of the DREAM are also currently available.

September 6: World 100 qualifications are in the books and Earl Person Jr stole the show as he broke the World 100 qualifying lap record with a blistering lap of 15.350 seconds. Tim McCreadie, Scott Bloomquist, Darrell Lanigan, and Darren Miller rounded out the top five. The heat invert is a six for tomorrow night so fans will be sure to see some wild heat racing action!....Fans were out in full force on Friday night, as many say it was one of the largest Friday night crowds in the history of the World 100....Check back mid morning for complete and official qualifying results, heat race lineups, and a race stat packs!

September 5: We are getting closer... drivers meeting is just a little over one hour away.... As we get settled in, we'll bring you some more updates this afternoon and will have a driver roster posted prior to hot laps...

September 5: 165 cars have have made it through tech inspection so far this weekend...

September 4: Final update for the evening.... 102 cars have officially passed tech inspection on Thursday night. Officials will resume inspection at 9:00 am tomorrow morning for the remainder of the teams... After week long temperatures in the mid 90's, tomorrow looks to bring some cooler temperatures and that has nearly everyone in the campgrounds excited....

September 4: Tech Inspection is nearing its last hour for Thursday. The lower pit is full and officials are pitting the top side right now. The first car to take a qualifying lap on Friday night? That would be April Farmer - she drew the #1 pill for round one.... Two new photos below...

September 4: The pits are now open and haulers are been led down inside the track. Tech Inspection is going get underway at 3:00 pm today... New photo below...

September 4: Good morning from Eldora! Officials parked 5 new rows of haulers overnight and as of the 9:00 hour, there looks to be about 75 teams on the property.... Pits open for hauler parking at 1:00, with technical inspection beginning a few hours after that. A couple new photos have been added below.... We'll continue to update you on car counts and tech inspection news throughout the day...

September 3: The night crew is out in pit staging and staying busy this evening as haulers are beginning to trickle in on a regular basis as we approach the 11:00 hour. We'll bring a full report tomorrow prior to tech inspection...

September 3: The cornhole tourney has been expanded to 64 teams due to overwhelming response. Entry forms are still being accepted until we reach the 64 team limit. Forms can be filled out / dropped off at the main office or at the Golf Cart Registration Building.

September 2: The first 120 World 100 driver entries have now been posted. Click the link at the top of the page to view the additions!... Only two team spots left to fill for the cornhole tourney...see the link at the top of the page for additional information.

September 2: PLEASE NOTE: World 100 tickets are no longer available for purchase online. Tickets can be purchased by phone from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday. The ticket office at the Speedway will be open on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm for in person sales. Walk-up sales are always welcome on raceday as well. The ticket office opens at 10:00 am both Friday and Saturday.

September 2: PLEASE NOTE: The Eldora office is no longer taking camping reservations by phone. All remaining and available camping spaces in the Eldora Village are sold directly in the camping lot during race week. Those looking for a campsite can purchase a space upon arrival. Simply see the campground attendant on duty at the Eldora Village.

September 1: Sunoco Race Fuels again will be the title sponsor of several events at the famous Eldora Speedway’s World 100 on September 5-6th. August 31: Beating Billy Moyer in Late Model racing at Eldora Speedway can be tough – start him on the pole and the job gets even tougher! Barnum of auto racing, Earl Baltes always had the uncanny knack of intriguing not only race teams but the fans alike at Eldora Speedway, with his motivating promotions. Whether it be unheard of prize money to win for the teams, marrying of apes on the stage or wheelbarrow races for the fans, Baltes always kept people guessing... <more>

August 18: Taking into consideration the escalating travel costs, for fans and racers alike, along with the desire to provide the best racing experience possible, track owner Tony Stewart and his Eldora Speedway staff have announced a slight revision to the previously released entry blank for this year’s 38th annual running of the World 100, September 5 and 6. Under revision is the ‘one car/one driver’ rule. <read more>

June 13 : For 51 straight years Earl Baltes, along with wife Berneice, held a watchful eye over his beloved Eldora Speedway, with a powerful presence. Even after selling the famed facility, which opened in June of 1954, to two-time NASCAR Cup champion Tony Stewart in the fall of 2004, the Baltes’s have attended every race meet under Stewart’s guidance. <read more>
