DIRT LATE MODEL DREAM RESCHEDULED

NON-SPECTATOR EVENT BEING PLANNED JUNE 4-6

DREAM RESCHEDULED

Eldora Speedway officials have announced the 26th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream, one of the legendary half-mile dirt oval’s marquee events, has been rescheduled to early June 2021.

With restrictions on mass gatherings issued by federal and state authorities remaining in effect, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic continues to have Eldora’s 67th season of racing on hold and additional events scheduled for June are also in jeopardy.

NON-SPECTATOR EVENT COMING SOON

Speedway officials continue to work with local and state agencies on determining a safe return to racing for all constituents. Crafted with guidance from local and state officials, Eldora is developing a plan for a ‘non-spectator’ event to take place on the weekend of June 4th-5th-6th. The proposal, currently in review, consists of Dirt Late Model teams working in a controlled and closed setting for an invitational event streamed exclusively online at FloRacing.com

Access to the event will be restricted to working track and series officials, pre-approved racers and pit crews, the EMS/Fire and track safety team, and members of the broadcast production team.

All participants will be required to follow a defined safety protocol, including but not limited to pre-entry medical screenings, face coverings, and social distancing. The event is being planned in accordance with the latest CDC, OHSA, federal, state and local guidance.

Additional details surrounding this bourgeoning event will be released upon approval of local and state authorities.

+      Can I exchange my Dirt Late Model Dream tickets for tickets to another event?

  • Yes. Dirt Late Model Dream tickets may be exchanged for another event by calling the track office. Exchanges will be permitted through June 19, 2020. PLEASE NOTE: exchanging tickets means that you will lose all Dirt Late Model Dream renewal opportunities for your tickets/campsites as anything exchanged goes back into the public offering for the Dirt Late Model Dream being held in early June 2021.

+      Why can’t you just run the Dirt Late Model Dream as a PPV only event instead of creating a fill-in event?

  • Events like the Dirt Late Model Dream epitomize ‘the Eldora Experience’ – celebrations of the sport featuring hundreds of racers and pit crews from across North America, Australia and New Zealand; thousands of race fans from around the world; and the legendary city of campers. Anyone who has attended a marquee event at Eldora can attest that it is an experience unlike any other. The inability to host our loyal fans, campers, or any and all racers seeking their ‘Dream’ payday would be an injustice to the event.

+      Why aren’t you allowing fans in to watch this new event?

  • While we are beginning to see more states and industries re-open, the ongoing local, state and federal efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus include restrictions on mass-gatherings and travel. At this time, entertainment and sports venues like Eldora Speedway remain closed to the public and spectator events like the Dirt Late Model Dream cannot be held.

+      What about the other events on your schedule?

  • It’s obviously a very fluid situation and we are in communication with local and state officials on a daily basis. Our coronavirus page is updated, when necessary, with schedule changes. Additionally, ASCoC officials have confirmed that the Ohio Sprint Speedweek date has been postponed.

+      Can I drive to Eldora the weekend of June 4-5-6 and watch the big screen from the parking lot?

  • All spectator areas, parking lots and campgrounds will be gated and closed. The only people permitted to be on property will be those that fall within our official Operations Plan when approved by local and state health officials.

+      How can I watch the event on June 4-5-6, 2020?

  • The exclusive streaming partner for this event and many others on Eldora’s schedule is FloRacing.com
