2020 Schedule Updates

Coronavirus Impacts at Eldora

(Updated: July 30, 2020 – 5:20 PM)

As of this moment, there is no status change to the World 100. It is still on the schedule. The window of opportunity to host fans is certainly dwindling but there are still a couple scenarios in play and we are working diligently to explore all options that might become available to us. We fully understand the urgency surrounding getting a decision finalized so that everyone can make plans. Just as soon as any decision is made, we will update via all methods of communication. Thank you as always for your support and patience during this increasingly difficult and frustrating time.

(Editors note: We are aware of a screenshot floating around of an announcement on this event. To clear the air on that: we have working pages for each scenario that is in play for the event. We do this so that when a decision is made, we can expedite the process and get news out to our fan base quickly. One of the possible scenario pages was seen by handful of internet users earlier today. It is unclear how the page got set to a published state and how the link was then found but it has since been removed. We apologize for any confusion this may have generated)

(Updated: July 8, 2020)

Eldora Speedway’s NASCAR Gander Outdoors & RV Truck Series event is not a part of the newly revised 2020 NASCAR series schedules. The eighth annual Eldora Dirt Derby, the only NASCAR national series event held on dirt, was to be held July 29-30.

The Ohio Department of Health’s robust response to the COVID-19 health crisis includes orders restricting mass gatherings and prohibiting spectators from grandstands at large venues. Given current conditions, state officials have withheld approval of Eldora’s proposal to host reduced capacity events in a responsible and safe manner.

Without certainty as to when Eldora might be able to host spectators, and if those dates would coincide with available dates on the NASCAR Gander Outdoors & RV Truck Series schedule, Eldora and NASCAR officials jointly agreed to remove the event from the 2020 calendar.

Fans with advance tickets, pit passes and campsites for postponed and rescheduled events should hold onto them and monitor EldoraSpeedway.com and @eldoraspeedway on their favorite social channel for rescheduled dates and times when available. Eldora officials, in concert with the nation’s premier sanctioning bodies and promoters, continue working with local, state and federal authorities on determining a safe return to racing for everyone – guests, competitors, team members and the neighboring communities.

Our sincere appreciation goes to our healthcare workers, first responders, public health officials, law enforcement, volunteer fire departments and rescue squads, ambulance services, and essential workers for their unwavering commitment to the community. From March 20th to March 24th, we donated and distributed over 3,000 pieces of personal protective equipment – surgical masks, nitrile gloves and hand sanitizer – for their use from inventory on hand for the Premier Health Infield Care Center and First Aid Stations.

As part of Eldora’s pledge to #FlattenTheCurve, our facility has been closed to the public since March 14th and the majority of our team started working from home on March 16th. Like all of Tony’s companies, Eldora is following the guidance and orders issued by state and federal officials.

We are all in this together and the fastest way for us all to return to racing is to:

  • Stay Home.
  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Practice social distancing.
  • Clean and disinfect.
