After closely monitoring today’s forecast in consultation with our partners at BAM Weather, Eldora Speedway has made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s Family Fireworks Night.

Officials remained hopeful throughout the week that conditions would improve enough to safely conduct the evening’s activities. Unfortunately, showers expected through midday combined with a second line of thunderstorms forecast to arrive in the early evening left too little margin to proceed.

Family Fireworks Night is designed to be much more than a race program. It features a full slate of attractions and activities for children and families, capped by one of the area’s premier fireworks displays. With the weather impacting setup for those attractions and creating uncertainty around completing both the racing program and the fireworks show, cancellation was the most responsible decision.

“We know many families were looking forward to spending tonight with us, and this is not the outcome we were hoping for,” said Levi Jones, General Manager of Eldora Speedway. “Working with our partners at BAM Weather, we held out hope the forecast would shift in our favor. Unfortunately, the timing of today’s rain and the threat of evening storms simply won’t allow us to deliver the safe and enjoyable experience our fans deserve.”

All previously purchased advance tickets will be refunded via the original method of purchase. Fans should allow three to five business days for credit card refunds to appear on their statements. No action is required.
