During the heart of the racing schedule each season, Eldora employs nearly 200 people. Many of the positions are part-time and seasonal. They include positions within concessions, maintenance, clean up, race-day operations, marketing, security, ticket sales and more. Candidates must be available to work variable and flexible hours.

    Concessions area work for select Eldora race events could include, but not be limited to, sandwich wrappers, grill cooks, fry cooks and cashiers. Successful candidates should have good listening and observation skills, with the ability to react quickly and efficiently during periods of high food and drink demand. Candidate must be available to work long hours and weekends. This is a fast-paced environment. Cashiers much be able to make change quickly and accurately.

    This is a multifaceted position with the primary focus being to keep Eldora clean and the facility fresh in appearance: i.e. trash pick-up, painting, mowing grass, weed eating, etc. Candidate should be able to operate equipment necessary to fulfill this focus, including, but not limited to: tractors, mowers, leaf blowers, ATV’s and have a valid driver’s license to operate any licensed vehicles. This is a part-time, all-weather position with a varying schedule of days and hours.

    A knowledge of the racing environment is helpful, but not required. The position requires the ability to be a ‘team’ player able to meet schedule and event deadlines.

    This candidate will work with the timing/scoring department. Responsibilities will be centered around the use of transponders for scoring, including, but not limited to; collection and input of data, overseeing the operation of the transponders and associated computer software throughout the event and exporting the acquired data. Candidates must have a knowledge of computer operation and be able to work under a tense and time-sensitive atmosphere.

    This is a part-time position, limited to event days/nights. A knowledge of the racing environment is extremely helpful.

    Multiple positions available on the video productions crew including camera operator, director and graphics operator. Camera operators must have prior shooting experience. Graphics operator must be proficient on a computer. All positions require the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. These positions are part-time and primarily limited to event nights only.

    The primary responsibilities of this position include helping the track crew with preparation of the surface. Candidate must be able to operate tractors and other large machinery. Work may include both weekday and weekend.

    The primary responsibility of this position is to help patrons locate their seats and help enforce awareness of Eldora’s policies; such as no smoking, no alcohol sections, no standing areas, etc. Position entails varying requirements on Eldora race days; including, but not limited to:

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with Eldora’s patrons and staff while remaining attentive and positive. Outgoing and strong communications skills.
  • Monitoring of the crowds and facility for any problems and handling these problems with a courtesy, positive, pro-active approach.
  • Ability to work outdoors and subject to weather conditions while standing, walking and climbing.
  • Must be able to work all major events, this includes the Thursday night events.

    The Program Seller(s) will work at select Eldora events to aggressively sell Eldora produced souvenir programs to the event attendees, on a commissioned sales basis.

    This is a fast-paced environment and the successful candidate(s) should be self-motivated, be well groomed, have pleasant communication skills and be skilled in handling cash transactions. The Program Seller(s) will be expected to canvass the Eldora grounds for maximum sales results.
