RAIN FORCES FRIDAY TWIN 25 PROGRAM TO SATURDAY MORNING

Event Sets Up Dirt Racing’s Biggest Doubleheader with 48th World 100 on Saturday Night

Local radar at 6pm eastern time

ROSSBURG, Ohio (October 12, 2018) – Rain showers hit Eldora Speedway late Friday afternoon forcing officials to reschedule the night’s racing program, featuring Twin 25 $10,000-to-win Features, to Saturday morning. It sets up a massive doubleheader with the 48th annual World 100 scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday night.

Consultation with Eldora’s contracted meteorological service and fellow speedway operators to the west concluded deteriorating conditions would make the likelihood of having the track surface in raceable condition in timely fashion impossible.

Dating back to the original September date, 77 of the original 110 entrants have returned from across the United States to battle for over $350,000 in prize money not yet awarded.

On Saturday morning, the grandstand, pit area and South Lot campground will be cleared and secured at 9 a.m. All admission gates will open at 10 a.m. The cars will go on track for Hot Laps at 10:30 a.m. and then immediately into their qualifying time trials. The full program originally slated for Friday night, including Heat Races, B-Features and $10,000-to-win Twin 25 Feature Races will begin in short order.

Rainchecks, tickets and multi- or single-day pit pass wristbands from Friday, September 7 and new tickets and rainchecks dated for Friday, October 12 are required for admission to the first session on Saturday.

Immediately following the final checkered flag from the first session, all spectators and pit areas will be cleared while Eldora officials conduct track maintenance. Patrons holding the appropriate rainchecks or tickets for Saturday night’s World 100 or bearing pit passes will be re-admitted promptly. Showtime for the 48th World 100 is 7 p.m.

Race fans should monitor the official Twitter and Facebook social channels – @eldoraspeedway – and www.EldoraSpeedway.com or call the speedway box office at (937) 338-3815.

Eldora’s 65th Season Finale on Sunday afternoon featuring the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series is not affected by the change. Sunday’s matinee program will begin with Hot Laps for the World of Outlaws at 4:30 p.m. and roll straight through the event.
