Last Saturday was a wild night for the UMP Modifieds at Eldora as several drivers thought they could challenge Mielke for the win.

Evan Taylor, from Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, was running second in the A-Main, but clipped the wall in turn three early in the race and was done for the night. Ryan Sutter, an early leader, was running third but was collected in a wreck involving Scott Williams which took him out of contention.

There was a five car pileup on the first lap in turns three and four and Collin Thirlby, from Traverse City, Michigan, flipped his car. And in the third heat race earlier in the night, Jason Kenney, from Celina, Ohio, took a violent flip on the frontstetch.

Pardo started fifth in the A-Main of the stock car division, but took the lead in turn one from Donnie Jeschke and never looked back.

The Vores Compact Touring Series debuted at Eldora with an exhibition race in late 2011. They raced at Eldora in 2012 and are returning this Saturday. Steve Vore of Vores Welding & Steel in in nearby Fort Recovery, Ohio is the series founder.

The cars are front wheel drive compact cars with either four or six cylinders.
